Plain-language promises about how Afterglow works, what we collect, and the boundaries of what we can and can't do for you.

Part One
The agreement between you and Afterglow. Short, specific, and written like we'd say it to a friend.
Afterglow is a mental health navigation tool. We are not a medical or mental health provider. We help you find licensed therapists, psychiatrists, and community resources in Arizona. We do not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, medication, case management, or crisis care — and using Afterglow does not create a provider-patient, therapist-client, or doctor-patient relationship with us.
Nothing on this site, in our emails, in our matches, in our guides, or in any message from us is medical advice. It is information to help you make your own decisions about your care, ideally with a licensed professional you choose.
If you are in crisis, or if you or someone else is in danger, do not use Afterglow. Call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. Afterglow is not monitored for emergencies and we cannot respond to them.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Afterglow ("we," "us," or "our"), a mental health navigation service based in Phoenix, Arizona. By using afterglowaz.com, joining our waitlist or pilot, building a care profile, submitting a form, or communicating with us, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the service.
Afterglow is a navigation and matching service. That means:
A match or referral from Afterglow is a starting point — not a clinical recommendation. You are responsible for choosing your provider, verifying their credentials and your coverage, and deciding whether to begin or continue care.
Using Afterglow does not create a provider-patient, therapist-client, doctor-patient, or any other professional care relationship between you and us. We do not owe you the duties a licensed clinician would owe a patient, because we are not one. The professional relationship — and the clinical responsibility — lives between you and the provider you ultimately choose.
Content on Afterglow is for general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a licensed mental health professional with any questions you have about a mental health condition. Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read or received through Afterglow.
Afterglow is not designed for, staffed for, or capable of responding to mental health emergencies. We do not monitor messages in real time and cannot guarantee a response within any window.
If you or someone you know is experiencing thoughts of suicide, self-harm, harm to others, abuse, or any immediate danger, please reach out to the appropriate resource right now:
Afterglow may introduce you to therapists, psychiatrists, clinics, hotlines, peer groups, apps, or other resources. Those providers and organizations are independent — they are not employed, supervised, credentialed, or controlled by Afterglow. We do our best to surface reputable options and, where possible, to verify licensure, but:
If something goes wrong with a provider or a resource we pointed you toward, we want to hear about it. Email us so we can improve our recommendations — but know that complaints about a licensed provider's care belong with that provider and, if appropriate, with the Arizona licensing board that oversees them.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Afterglow. The service is focused on people in Arizona. If you use Afterglow from outside Arizona, you're welcome to, but the resources we surface may not be relevant to where you live, and we can't help you navigate care outside the state.
The match is only as good as what we hear from you. By using Afterglow, you agree that:
Please don't use Afterglow to:
If you send us a rating, review, or note about a provider or your experience, you keep ownership of what you wrote. You give us permission to use it, quote it (anonymously unless you say otherwise), and share it with the provider or team members so we can improve. Please keep feedback honest and free of anything that would identify another person's private health information.
The Afterglow name, brand, copy, design, guides, and original content are ours. You're welcome to share links and quote us with attribution. Please don't reproduce the site, our guides, or our match flow as your own.
Afterglow is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted service. We do not warrant that the site will be error-free, that any match will meet your needs, or that any provider we mention will be available, qualified for your situation, or the right fit.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Afterglow, its owners, contributors, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the service or any provider, resource, or information you found through it.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, for most users, will be zero, because Afterglow is free), or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Afterglow and its team from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
We're an early-stage project and we iterate often. We may add, change, or remove features, guides, or resources at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, give you a heads up by email or on the site. Continuing to use Afterglow after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
You can stop using Afterglow, unsubscribe from emails, and ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing findyourafterglow@gmail.com. We may suspend or end access for anyone who misuses the service, threatens our team or other users, or violates these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute between you and Afterglow will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you agree to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that can't be waived under applicable law.
If a court decides any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
Questions about these Terms, something we said, or something we should have said — email findyourafterglow@gmail.com. A human reads every message.
Part Two
What we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
The short version. Afterglow is not a licensed medical provider and does not diagnose or treat any condition. We collect only what we need to match you with the right care, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing findyourafterglow@gmail.com.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, diagnostic records, insurance ID numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive medical information.
We share limited information only with trusted service providers that help us run Afterglow — for example, our website host, form processor, and email tools. These providers are contractually limited to using your information only to operate the service for us. A short list:
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the safety of a person in imminent danger.
We use minimal cookies and basic analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time.
We keep your information only for as long as we need it to provide the service, respond to you, or meet legal requirements. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
You can, at any time:
Email findyourafterglow@gmail.com and we'll take care of it — usually within a few days.
Afterglow is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No online service is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe and to be honest with you if anything ever changes.
If we update this policy, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, give you a heads up by email or on the site.
